The Home of Chocolate Since 1958!

Founded in 1958 under the name Konak Çikolata ve Şekerleme San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti., our company began its journey with the production of chocolate.


At that time, tablet and bar chocolates—partially produced with machinery and partially hand-wrapped, as was common among many manufacturers—were sold in Istanbul and other cities across Turkey, where the population was relatively low.


In the early 1960s, the addition of cooking kettles and packaging machines to our production line marked the start of candy and chewing gum manufacturing. Toward the late 1960s, our first nougat was produced.


The production of nut-based nougats, which made a significant contribution to our company’s growth, rapidly increased with advancing mechanization and expanded manufacturing capacity.

About Us
In the mid-1970s, the factory building was expanded. The first export was made in 1978, targeting Gulf countries. In 1980, the manufacturer's name was changed to Kurtulmuşlar Gıda ve İhtiyaç Maddeleri San. ve Tic. A.Ş., and Konak continued its operations solely as a marketing and sales company. Driven by the influence of the Eastern European market, both production capacity and domestic/international sales figures increased rapidly throughout the 1980s.

In 1988, the company moved to a new factory building and participated in the ISM trade fair for the first time. With the changing customer profile in both domestic and international markets, efforts to establish chain stores were accelerated. At the beginning of the 2000s, chocolate production was completely stopped, and the company focused solely on confectionery production. Products began to be sold in select retail outlets in Turkey as well as in 24 other countries. In 2001, Konak was dissolved as a company and only remained as a trademark on the products. In 2018, the manufacturer's name was changed to Konak İstanbul Gıda San. Ve Tic. Ltd. It was changed to Ltd.
